Structure of Computer Networks

One example of a computer network is a local area network, which is abbreviated as LAN in English. A local area network consists of multiple devices and a link that connects the devices together. For example, a traditional home modem provides a WiFi or wired network where devices are connected either wirelessly or physically. By combining these networks, larger entities are formed, and this is how the Internet itself is built. Simply put, the Internet is just a collection of different types and sizes of networks, which requires hundreds of millions of links to connect.
