Nmap provides IPv6 support for its most popular features. Specifically, ping scanning (TCP only), connect scan, and version detection all support the IPv6 protocol. The command syntax is the same as usual, but you also add the -6 option. Of course, if you specify an address instead of a hostname, you must use IPv6 syntax. An address could look like 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334, so hostnames are recommended.
